PTA Meeting Minutes 1/18/2024 – Leadership Meeting

Direct donate- raised $3619.76

-Consider moving timing to Fall

Meredith Ross motioned to allot $750 for physical education. Second by Kirsten Kunhle.

Request for additional funds for permanently installed lower basketball hoops for the gymnasium.

Motion by Lucia and second by Kirsten Kunhle.

Approval for transition of teacher grant from Ms. Ibis to Ms. Donovan after midyear change.

State compliance update-pending IRS approval. Treasurer to call.

MCT week Jan 29-Feb 2, 2024. Permission slips must be done for participation.

Melody will be there every day. Lucia to help Monday and Lucia and Meredith to help on Friday. Kirsten

to buy snacks. Kim may be cancelling some groups to assist with MCT.

Winter Rock Concert-Friday March 8, 2024 6-7pm

Boosterthon-meeting coming up.

MCT Jan 29-Feb 2: Need volunteers for Monday and Friday afternoons, please sign up genius

Special Guest: School Resource Officer Kalli Matt.

-Discussion about technology and children.

Establish not sharing personal information or photos-no DOB, names, address, CC information

Gizmo is a limited way to call/text. Setting parental controls on iphones, apps, ipads. Privacy and

security, safety check for images on iphone.

Phones are allowed in Middle school and High school but are not supposed to be out in the school.

Officer Matt recommends going through your kids phones. No delete rule. Her least favorite app is

snapchat.

She recommends not sharing her location in every single app.

Recommends limiting online exposure of your children, not sharing their photos and personal

information—example of this is a first day of school photo.

Discuss who they are you going to communicate with, what they are going to share, what’s your goal

when you log in.

Warning signs to tell kids-if anyone asks you your age, what you look like, if your parents are home, if

you can keep this a secret, and if they ask your child to delete the messages.

Cyber tip line-google this if you think there is a threat happening

Make sure home security (ring, nest, baby monitor) is password protected, change passwords for

computer and ipad and put parental securities on.

Life360 app-is a monitoring app for families
