Details: PTA’s monthly meetings are during the evening and childcare is available! Principal Meyers will kick off the meetings by discussing topics relevant to our children’s education. Look for a email before each meeting announcing that month’s topic. The General Meetings will conclude with brief reports from PTA committees and an opportunity for parent input.

Details: Jessi Knudsen Castaneda will be providing us with an hour long presentation about her animal friends and with any luck we will get to pet a few at the end of the evening. For more information, go to www.animalwonders.org

Time: Doors opens at 5:00 pm and the movie starts at 5:30 pm

Location: Ogren Park Baseball Stadium

Details: Please join families from Rattlesnake, Paxson, Franklin, Lowell, Lewis and Clark, Jeannette Rankin, MIS, Russell, and Target Range schools for an outdoor movie night. This year’s movie is Elemental. Admission is free and food will be available for purchase. Please contact the Family Resource Center if you need assistance with transportation and/or food costs. This is an alcohol-free event.

Details: Consider donating to the Rattlesnake PTA. The purpose of the campaign is to raise funds for the PTA’s yearly budget. Your donation goes directly to PTA and is tax deductible. 100% of the proceeds go back to our school!

Details: PTA in conjunction with Fact and Fiction will be hosting this year’s book fair. Rattlesnake swag will also be for sale during the week. 20% of the book sale proceeds are donated to PTA.

Details: MCT comes to Rattlesnake this week! Students’ grades 2 through 5 will have the opportunity to audition for a part in the MCT production of Blackbeard the Pirate. Additionally, each classroom grades K through 2nd grade get to participate in a theater workshop taught by MCT directors and all students get to attend a performance of the play put on by their schoolmates during school. A public performance of the play will take place in the school’s south gym on Friday, January 31st at 5:30 pm.

Details: The Rattlesnake Running Club will kick off in mid April. The Running Club is an opportunity for students who are non-runners and runners alike to run in the mornings and during their lunch times.

Details: Save the date for the 2024 Fun Run! Last year, the community raised over $35,000 in donations from the spring Boosterthon fundraiser.

Details: Our community needs your help with maintaining the school's landscaping and most of our focus will be in the school garden. We are asking families to donate an hour or two of their time after school to help weed the flower beds and spread mulch and we are making the garden ADA accessible! Please bring your work gloves and weeding tools. Thank you in advance for helping to maintain our school grounds and provide much needed support to the MCPS maintenance staff. We’ll enjoy camaraderie and music and popsicles together!
