MCPS Families in Transition Program
If you are experiencing homelessness, doubling up, couch surfing, or staying with friends due to financial hardship, there is a federal law that mandates students have access to their school of origin until permanent residency is again established. For example, if your student has been attending Rattlesnake School, then that may be considered their “school of origin.” To learn more about the McKinney Vinto Act and the services your family may be eligible for, please visit MCPS McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act page
